Hotspots: point, callout and area
The highlight that moves the demo forward, the three shapes, and where each one can lead.
The hotspot is what the demo asks of the visitor. It is born on the element you clicked while recording, and it can be dragged anywhere on the stage.
| Hotspot | Pulsing dot with a bubble beside it. The default. |
|---|---|
| Callout | Bubble with a next button inside it. |
| Area | Rectangle over the clicked region, to highlight a whole block. |
The text
The text field is what shows in the bubble. Write the benefit, not the command: "see this month summary here" beats "click the button". There is also an Ask AI button, which drafts a suggestion from what is on screen.
Appearance
- Style: Pulse, Dot, Filled, Bloom.
- Bubble shape: rounded or square, with or without a tail.
- Bubble position: automatic keeps away from the nearest edge, or pinned to one side.
- Color: picked by hand, or inherited from the Brand Kit.
- Button label, when the shape has a button.
Destination
| Next step | Follows the list order. The default. |
|---|---|
| This step | The click does not advance, it only shows the bubble. |
| A specific step | Creates an alternate path inside the demo. |
| External URL | Leads out, for example to your product sign-up. |
A step can hold several hotspots. When it does, you can require them to be completed in sequence, so the visitor does not skip the explanation.
