Steps: reorder, duplicate and skip

The left column, the four step types, and what to do with what the recording brought in excess.

Each step is one screen of the demo. A ten-click recording arrives with ten steps, and the first job is to trim: there is almost always a repeated click or an in-between screen that tells nothing.

The step types

ScreenThe HTML copy of the recorded page. The default step.
ImageAn image from the media library, or uploaded on the spot.
VideoA short video in the middle of the flow.
ChapterA cover: title, description, buttons and form.

What you can do with each step

  • Drag to reorder.
  • Duplicate, when you want the same screen with a different highlight.
  • Skip step: it stays in the project but disappears from the presentation.
  • Hide from navigation: it plays, but is absent from the step bar and the menu.
  • Insert step here: adds a new step in the middle of the sequence.
  • Download image, to reuse that screen somewhere else.

The hotspot badge on the step card tells you which screens already have a highlight. A step with no hotspot and no autoplay traps the visitor, because there is nothing left to click.
