Stage: background, ratio and layouts

What sits behind the recording and how screen and camera arrange themselves in the frame.

The stage is the whole frame of your video: the background, the aspect ratio and where the recorded window sits inside it. It is the module that changes the look the most for the least effort.

Background

Three routes: a wallpaper from the library, a solid color from the picker, or no background at all, which makes the video fill the frame edge to edge. The free plan ships three wallpapers; Pro unlocks the full library and lets you import your own images.

The Stage module also holds background blur, the frame around the window, rounded corners, and the shadow, with its own strength, distance, angle and blur.

Aspect ratio

The final video can be landscape 16:9, 16:10 or 4:3, square 1:1, or portrait 4:5 and 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok. Auto keeps the original recording ratio.

Layouts

Ready-made layouts place screen and camera in one go: screen with a picture-in-picture camera, stacked, side by side, camera only, screen only, portrait with the camera right or left. One click changes the stage for the whole video.

Drag a layout onto the Stage track in the timeline and it applies only to that stretch. The move from one stage to the next is animated, so you can open on your face full-frame and glide into the screen with the camera in the corner.
