While you record
Countdown, pause, stop, and what shows up on screen mid-take.
Once you hit the red button, the bar disappears and a 3-second countdown shows in the middle of the screen. The length is adjustable in Settings, and it can be turned off: with no countdown, recording starts as soon as capture is ready.

Pause and stop
While recording, the controls live in a floating pill tucked at the top of the screen, holding the elapsed time and the pause, stop and discard buttons. You can drag it anywhere, and it never enters the video. The same menu also lives in the Fouvia menu bar icon.

Pause applies to everything at once: screen, webcam and microphone stop and resume together, and the cuts line up in the final file. No audio gaps, no drift between voice and picture.
What happens next
The recording is processed and the app asks how you want to start editing. Open with auto-edit applies the default layout, a picture-in-picture camera and zooms built from your clicks. Open the raw video hands you the recording with nothing applied. Tick Remember my choice if you already know which one you prefer.
