Video: cuts, framing and speed

The Video module handles the recording itself: where it sits on the stage, which part of it shows, and how it is cut in time.

Trimming and splitting

Move the playhead to the cut point and use Split in the toolbar, or ⌘B. The clip becomes two independent pieces. Select one and remove it with Delete, or drag it to reorder. Video and camera move together when you reorder.

Each piece keeps its own settings: microphone volume, computer volume, speed, camera position and window size. That is what lets you speed up only the stretch where you type a long URL.

Framing

Click the recording on the stage to move and resize it with the handles. Hold Shift while dragging to snap to center. A double-click opens the crop, where you choose which part of the recording shows: your selection becomes the inner window and the background fills the rest.

This module also holds the iPhone frame for device recordings, the background blur, and the cursor behavior described below.

Speed

Every piece can have its own speed, up to 2×. Select the piece on the Video track and adjust it on the bar above the timeline.

The cursor

On macOS recordings, the system cursor is stripped at capture time and the app draws a new one along the real mouse path. That gives you control over the style (black arrow, white arrow, hand, dot), the size from 0.5× to 3×, how much the motion is smoothed, and the ripple that pulses on every click.

• Real keeps the movement exactly as recorded. The other options smooth the glide.
• Remove jitter ignores micro-movements, which fixes a trackpad cursor shaking, especially under zoom.
• Freeze cursor at the end locks the pointer for the last seconds, so you never see the mouse dash toward the stop button.
